Black Sands Realty Group started off organically around 20 years ago, Eric Yule had been doing property management for some time and organically transitioned from property management to selling homes. “At that time, there were a lot of older families in the area who were weary of foreigners selling on their behalf, but after a few successful deals, word got out and other families followed suit.” Eric Yule
Our company has since grown into a boutique agency with a humble two agent crew, comprised of Eric Yule and Andrea Mendez. Eric is Canadian born with a passion for real estate. He and his husband John have invested in real estate in both Canada and Costa Rica.
Both fell in love with the Caribbean coast and moved here in 2014 with Eric opening BSRG in 2015 and quickly becoming one of the top sellers of real estate on the coast.
In a move to expand, Eric brought on one of the most knowledgeable realtors in the Caribbean, Andrea Mendez. Soon establishing themselves as 2 of the busiest realtors on the Caribbean coast.

Costa Rican born and fluent in both, English and Spanish. Andrea boasts years of experience in hotel & property management, as well as real estate, in the Caribbean. Originally from Guapiles, she moved to Puerto Viejo 20 years ago, and worked for some of the most successful companies and resorts in the area, using this experience to help you with your home buying and selling needs. Andrea Mendez
Costa Rican born and Spaniard by heritage, he is fluent in English, Spanish and French. Rodolfo has multiple years of experience in Business Management and Customer Service working for international companies. While he lived and worked in canton Vaud, in Switzerland, he learned French and cultivated strong relations, both personally and professionally with people from many different countries and cultures.
Originally from Rohrmoser in San José, he is a fusion of European and Latin cultures due to his upbringing. He graduated from school with a degree in Information Technology and furthered his career in Business Management at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.
His passion for language and photography, combined with his love of travel, eventually set him on a course to spend 10 years working in Europe expanding his management career into Client Care and Hospitality.
